Just started using GB-PVR few days ago, very impressed so far.

I can access movies, photos, mp3 files, only if they are located on the same PC as GB-PVR MediaMVP Server is running. I Cannot access files which are located on another PC on my LAN via MVP.
If I run GB-PVR on my PVR PC, I can access any file on my fileserver which is on the same LAN as my PVR PC.

Any good ideas? Or do I really need to copy all my files from my fileserver to my PVR PC?

By the way, the Web interface has same problem.

The MVP software runs as a different user account so it wont see any drives you've mapped under your account. If you use UNC paths it should be ok (e.g. \\servername\share).

You may also need to change the user the GB-PVR Recording Service runs as. I think the default "localsystem" account doesnt have access to the network.

Thanks
I already tried UNC paths, with no success. Changing the user for GB-PVR Recording Service solved the problem.
Next problem is that the MVP reconnects every time I try to show a large photo via the MVP. It doesn't like heavy traffic on the network. Small files loads with no problem. Maybe that's why many people have problems with MVP boxes disconnecting all the time. First I will replace my old HUB with a new switch, I can see a lot of collisions.
By the way, the web interface also works now.

UNC paths work, but you have to grant the PVR's machine account read rights to the share. In a domain, the machine account is simply the machine name with a dollar sign at the end. Not sure how to do it in a workgroup, though.

That will work too, and you can still use UNC paths.

Both high CPU utilization and/or network bottlenecks can cause this. In your case, if you're seeing a lot of collisions on the hub then you've already answered your question.
