xDVD Plugin

I have installed xDVD plugins, so I can watch ISO or DVD using my MVP in other room. I am not sure on the sequence of events that needs to occur for successful play.

Sometime, I hit previous, and I get the DVD/ISO to play, but If I hit Play, it comes back with L:\DVD.mpg is being used by another process.

L: is my external harddrive, and it is where all the ISO's are located.

I do have VLC installed, and I see ISO is mounted in virtual drive K, but I just don't understand the sequence of events for successful play.

Please help me understand what should I do first. Should I hit trandcode first then hit Play or hit Play first, and it should automatically trigger transcode.

MVP is slowly growing on me, and I really like the ability to watch and pause and forward live TV which is just totally cool.

Should just hit play. If you get in use by other process click on kill vlc. You will see if vlc is running by looking at the bottom of the screen for a green square.


Transcode is only if you want to convert to mpeg.

I hit play, and nothing happens. I wait for a while, and then hit play, and it comes with dvd.mpg is being used by another process.

If my memory serves me correct, if I hit previous, it will start playing the original DVD that I had intended to play to begin with.

How long should I wait before it starts playing once I highlight the ISO, and then hit play?

on the top it shows either time counting down or XXX / 150 which is size. The mpeg is being created and it is creating enough of a head start of the mpeg before it starts playing. Do you see the count down. It should start playing automatically.

It worked great last night with counter incrementing, and I played the DVD.

When I stopped, and pick another DVD/ISO, the counter did not increment, and I got error message saying that dvd.mpg is being used by another process.

I wonder if I have to kill VLC before picking another DVD? I tried to do that before picking another DVD/ISO, but still the same problem.

Any suggestions?

Try to run the dvd and then hit stop. You should see vlc still running in the task manager. Hit kill vlc and see if it is still running.

Can you please tell me what am I doing wrong?

I installed VLC and then the plugin.
Rebooted PC.
I run GBPVR and went into xdvd on my PC.
I hit the play button and see the batch file open/closes.
I see that the green square appear when VLC is on and verified it with task manager.
The dvd does not play. The counter stays on 0/150 and the size of the dvd.mpg is zero.

The only thing I changed is the drive location F.

Here is my setting.xml file:

try to run the mvpplaydvd.bat from a dos shell add the following parameters

edit the mvpplaydvd.bat and remove the echo off
then run
mvpplaydvd f: c:\dvd.mpg 1

and see what the output is.

I am assuming that if I press play on the MVP the invoke for playmvpdvd.bap will happend?

But when i call this file from the PC I should see the dvd plays?

if you have .. selected in the file box it will play the dvd.

When you call it from the pc it should only transcode not play.
