Hey again everyone! As a quick update to those who spent so much time helping me out with my last problem I thought I would give you all an update real quick.
I was able to record shows fine on only one input of my PVR-500 but the other would always be a 0Kb file. Well, Hauppauge tech support told me to send the card back to them and they would replace it for me...they didn't even ask me for any information regarding where/when it was purchased or anything! What great guys and gals In either case, my new one works great!
Anyway...on to my new question...here is a scenario:
-Totally formatted hard drive gets Win XP Pro put on it (and all necessary drivers and Windows updates)
Which codecs am I going to need to go get in order for GBPVR to properly record shows.
My new card worked fine on an old machine with tons of crap on it, but I wanted to wipe it clean and turn it into a dedicated HTPC. Now I find that GBPVR is indeed recording my programs but when I go to play them back I see a black screen and no audio.
Anyone have any quick ideas so that I won't have to hunt down every codec that I even had on that computer?
Thanks!
