I have been having problems whereby gbpvr wasn't flashing my cable box. I had just installed the latest release of gbpvr. Thinking it was a bug went back to the previous version and deleted the entire directory of all config files etc. saving only the file with the remote codes for my cable box

Re-installed and reconfigured the program. However the USB-UIRT still won't send the flashes to the device. Thinking that I might have a corrupt config file, tried relearning the remote. I get to the point where I click New and wait for the prompt to press the 1 button. However while the prompt appears, it doesn't wait for me to press the 1 button, goes to the press the 2 button prompt, etc and all the way to 0 and OK and then prompts me to name the config file. I have tried removing the USB-UIRT and putting it back, restarting gbpvr and even shutting down and restarting the program but it still won't learn now

Anybody experienced this strange behaviour?

Thanks

You don't have any interference around? UV-lights? Plasma screen? Other ir emitters?

Note - checked all the old posts about ambient light etc. Even removed the USB-UIRT and re-installed and rebooted the PC several times. Now it also won't even send codes at all. I do have a DLP RP TV but that should be out of range of the USB-UIRT

Ok... don't know then. Does the USB-UIRT have a "native" app that you can try to learn the codes with? Just to see if it's really a gbpvr problem? Otherwise, have you checked the forums over at usbuirt.com? They might know what's happening. Maybe the hardware is even broken? Note that I don't actually know anything (well, not much anyway) about the usb-uirt... I've never even seen one other than on picture... thinking about getting one, though ;-))

Don't know if there is a native app. It was working fine up till recently when I made some small changes :-( Actually I updated to the latest gbpvr release and it stopped working then. Now it won't work with the older release despite my deleting all config files and reinstalling everything

I had this exact problem until last night. I was on 93.10, upgraded to 94.13 last night and the problem went away. Try contacting support @ usb-irt web site....

Hmm, I had this also, and.. well... I found out that I was holding an optical IR-mouse in the other hand :o

A couple of people had this problem in the last two years. From memory, I think a reboot fixed it.

I've done that a few times but can try again. My main problem now is the USB-UIRT won't respond at all. gbpvr won't flash the codes to the remote at any time. Since this used to work I am not sure what the problem is or what log I could look at. This is somewhat annoying. Only recourse is to remove the USB-UIRT, delete registry entries etc. remove drivers, re-install everything

I just received a test program from USB-UIRT support. This small program learns codes and sends them back. It worked fine for me - I learnt a few codes from my control and the program then flashed them back. So the problem with the gbpvr not sending codes is not a USB-UIRT problem but maybe some sort of gbpvr problem. Is there any easy way to debug this?

Thanks
