Hi guys,

I'm about to switch from Directv to Dish Network.
I would like to know which configuration were successful with Dish receivers.
I currently use a Hauppauge 150 on windows 2000.

Which receiver should I use :
Dish311 ? this is the basic one, only one tuner and one tv output.

Dish322 ? this is the one I want, it has two tuners and two tv-output. Allowing to watch TV while recording, I guess.

Also, anybody tried to make a combo GB-PVR + dish DVR ? I don't know if that's possible or useful, but if somebody did it, I wonder what he thinks about it.

Thanks, and long live GB-PVR !

I set up the control code to be "83" which seemed to work with my old Dish 4700. This was done in the Hauppage IR CONFIG and had it try every code until it found one that powered up the unit. After that I restarted GBPVR and it worked.
BTW: The default code did not work.

What significance would the EPG guide serve for the Dish Network Reciever without the composite and rf tuner together? Any suggestions

I use GBPVR on a win2K box with a 150. I have the basic Dish network box, and use the IR blaster to change the channels. I beleive it is using an Alphastar code, but I could check for you. I also use the .exe as the changer and file that comes with GBPVR for controlling the blaster. Works nicely.

I have an Echostar (dishnetwork/Bell expressvu) model 322 and WIN TV PVR 150 card running on a windows xp machine with no problems. I am using "109" for the IR Blaster code and Zap2it to fill the EPG. Runs live a dream with no problems. Just can't get the remote to work but Hauppauge tech support is sending me another IR blaster/remote cable.

Ppsychling, have you gotten the remote to work with the new blaster cable? I also have a DishNetwork 322 and PVR 150 and am using code "109" with no luck.

Thanks

I just got DishNetwork with the 322 box. I purchased a new retail version of the 150PVR (non MCE). I had a little trouble getting it to work and am still learning about the IR Blaster and the remote, etc. I found that code 0136 works with this box. I found it first using the Hauppauge config utility and then used it with GB PVR. I'm still not able to turn the 322 on or off using the remote with GB PVR. Not sure why a lot of the remote's buttons don't work. Maybe GB PVR doesn't map them?? Any info/links/etc would be appreciated.

When using an IR Blaster with GB-PVR to control a set top box, it only sends channel numbers, nothing else. GB-PVR only uses the IR Blaster for changing channels, and assumes its always on.

Remember, your Hauppauge remote is used to control GB-PVR, not your Dishbox. This is entirely separate from GB-PVR's use of an IR Blaster when it needs to tell an external box to change channels.
