I am probably missing something so this may be a stupid question... I installed the latest version, configured using the defaults, set up the EPG using zap2it. I am using a Hauppauge PVR250 with the cable directly connected to it. Whenever i start GBPVR, the status always says it is sleeping and I can not get beyond this point where I can actually use GBPVR.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you actually scheduled a recoding?

Sleep mode refers to the recording service (not the main program) which only becomes active when recording

Do you get to see the main GBPVR menu like in the screenshots?
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

It sounds like you are trying to start GBPVR using the Tray Icon, which is just a notification of status of the Tuners.

Go into Start Programs GBPVR and choose GBPVR ?

Post you c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe.log file and I'll see if there is anything obvious.

I am having the same problem. I just bought and installed a PVR 500 MCE that has dual tuners. I was running 9211 with no problems and when I installed the new tuner, I changed the configuration and everything was ok. I wanted to use picture in picture so I downloaded 9413 and installed it. when I click on the icon to start the GB-PVR, I get an hourglass for about 5 seconds then nothing. It just doesn't start.

There is no picture in picture in any release of GB-PVR.

Same offer, post you c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe.log file and I'll see if there is anything obvious.

Its the skin you're trying to use. Try switching to the default blue skin in the config app.

The skin you're using was probably designed for an older version of GB-PVR, and hasnt been updated to support later versions of GB-PVR.
