Problems with Sat picture playback

Have just installed a Twinhann 1022A DVB-S card (not the simplest install and I know there is still some tweaking to do) but
The biggest problem I have at the moment (after a week of hair pulling) is that watching sat TV has a very slight pause
every second or so. The same occurs watching programs recorded from the sat card and I have had the PC freeze a couple of
times during recording and on this occasion watching live TV via a MVP. From the PVR150 card all is fine. Does anyone have
any ideas? Is the sat stream likely to be bigger? Is it a buffer setting some ware that’s too small?

Which appears to have solved the picture appearence problem. However all is obviously not quite right yet as he PC froze on me while typing the first attempt at this reply This is the last bit of the log before the crash. It was recording from the PVR150 and showing a channel from the sat card on the MVP when this happened after about 5 minutes.

any ideas? Does it look normal to be saying "waiting for livetv data!" I haven't noticed it while watching from the PVR150.

I have no experiance with those types of cards, but if the whole PC is freezing up then it sounds like you have an irq conflict somewhere.
Did you check the device manager to see if any hardware is sharing irq's?
You might also consider putting the satelite card into a different pci slot.

Device manager says all ok, but is windows known to tell the whole truth on this issue?

I think this calls for a roll back and re-install, (shame its not a staight forward quick install) so a move of the card possition can't harm!
