There are no registry settings (except those probably used for uninstalling the software). What are you trying to do, and what are the error you are getting?
Just curious, how do you configure XP to install programs on a drive other than C:\ permanently?
Cheers,
andy
I don't know how it's done native under XP.
I use the program System Mechanic where you can configure it. But other XP Tweak programs probably do the same as well.
Why do you want to install programs, other then in the "c:\program files" directory?
When you install programs on another drive, all registry keys and shortcuts and so on are still on your c drive.
Also there's already a "c:\program files" directory in Windows, where Windows installs it's applications by default.
So it's better to keep all your programs together! (also for backup purposes!
On the other hand: It's better to keep all other data (such as letters; photo's movies; and so on) on another drive/partiton. (also for backup purposes)
