I've just noticed it doesn't like videos with the file extension .mpeg, so if thats what you've got then rename them to .mpg for the short term. I've changed the MVP playback to now correctly handle the .mpeg extension.

Also, stick with MPEG2 if possible as FF/RW should definitly more reliable on it.

Jeffcora, that video file of yours was MPEG1 and seemed to cause problems FF/RWing. I'll take a closer, and sure we can fix it.

Does anyone have any audio/video sync issues with the MVP playback after you press the Skip/FF/REW buttons?

Sub, I recorded a 10 minute manual recording with 17i this morning and tried playing it back on the MVP. Sound gets out of sync with the video after the first press of the skip button. Tried the same thing on the PC client and on the standard MVP software and they both work fine.

Thanks,
Bryan

Sub,
I did some more testing with my audio and video out of sync problem. It looks like it maybe much worse with the lower bit rate files. I did a 10 minute manual recording this morning at the 2.5 GB/Hr setting and when I played it back with the MVP, I could do skips and FFs without the sound getting out of sync. Retested the recording I made yesterday at 1.8 GB/hr setting and it got out of sync on the first skip. In the future I will be using a completely wired network for my MVPs but right now I have to use one of them wireless and the 1.8 GB/Hr setting is the highest bit rate setting I can use reliablily over the wireless link. Let me know if you would like for me to try anything else.

Thanks for the help,

Bryan

I get this when playing mpeg 2's recorded within GBPVR and also on xvid encoded files from my upstairs gbpvr machine Sad

Skip forward will jump anywhere between 30-secs to 1-min, but backward skip always seems to go the duration I've set within gbpvr config (30 secs).

Skipping isnt really supported at all on xvid files on the MVP, since its actively trying to transcode the file at the same time. If you're really lucky it might work, but not something you should count on,

Where are your MPEG2 files from? If they were recording from a DVB device, then its probably a bad mux filter. If so, keep trying muxes until you find one that works well for you.
