While trying to start Live TV, I get the following message, and Live TV doesn't start.

"No Connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it".

Rebooting didn't help. Should I reinstall GBPVR? I have ver. 0.94.13 running under Win XP, SP2.

Either you dont have the recording service running, or you have a firewall getting in the way of communications between the recording service and gbpvr.exe.

I am also experiencing the same error with an identical setup. The same thing kept happening in v0.95.13 and v0.95.14. I did clean installs on both versions but keep experiencing the same thing.

I've searched the forums and see that other people mentioned disabling the firewall but I am not running a firewall on the local machine with gbpvr. The gbpvrrecordingservice.exe is also constantly crashing with the error "application has generated an exception that could not be handled". The program also crashes when I try to launch my Media MVP with the same error.

Any insight as to what the problem is would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin

I just upgraded to v0.95.16. All appears to be OK for now. Live TV works again.

You could also get the recording service crashing if you configured it for the wrong type of capture device, or if the device is not functioning.

If you attach your GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log, I'll see if I can see anything obvious.

It's no problem, I'm probably due for a re-format of my hard drive anyway.

Thanks,

Replacing my power supply because of other issues (random reboots, other program crashes, etc.) resolved my issue. I am now running 0.95.16 and it is running stable.

Thanks for the help sub...
