Hi

Attempting to get EPG to download Via Hauppauge Nova-T and Twinhan DVBB-Sat.

Found that the Nova-T downloads the EPG for some channels but not all. Download from BBC3, 4 among others shows no info in EPG

Using the Twinhan card on Astra 19degrees gets no EPG info for any channels.

I have increased the "listening time" to 360seconds per transponder to see if the default 120seconds was insufficiently long but this did not help.

Are there further settings I can try and adjust.

GBPVR is v 95.16.

Are you sure those channels transmit EPG information? Many channels in this part if the world dont.

Never thought of that.

No I'm not sure all channels do but I would have thought some on Astra/Eurobird would.

Maybe you should check if you get any EPG information with the software that came with your devices.

Another user recently commented (from prior knowledge) that not many satellite channels in his area of Europe actually transmit EPG, so I wouldnt be surprised if that is what you are seeing also.

Often with satellites, the broadcaster transmits encrypted, including the EPG.

Hi Sub,

Have not got the Twinhan software installed to test EPG download because the TH software needs the non BDA drivers installed. I have only BDA drivers to use GBPVR etc.

Did try epg download using DVBViewer on the Twinhan card. It found lots of EPG data on most channels. It didn't find any data on encrypted channels though. Presumably when a channel is encrypted then all of the data transmitted is encrypted - unless the DVBviewer author took the view that downloading the epg for a channel you cant watch is a waste of time.

I was hoping you were going to advise a settings change.

Can you click the 'Update EPG' button, then zip and attach your config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log?

I have this problem aswell. I have a Hauppauge Nova-T PCI and I am almost certain that the channels broadcast EPG data. Well more than are being picked up.
I tried increasing the EPG harvest time to 360 secinds and I think it helped slightly and picked up a few more but Im not completely sure. The DVB EPG was not working in v95.14 and the window that says it is scanning now used to pop up and disappear straight away but that didnt get any data, 95.16 gets some. I think I remember it working fine with 95.13 though.

I would like to use the DVB EPG because Bleb seems to be a bit holey and sometimes isnt correct whereas from what I have seen of the DVB data it seems to be quite reliable.

Attatched are the logs you asked for. Hope they help and if you want me to try anything I would be happy to help.

I lowered the harvest setting to 60 secs so I could post this before I go to bed. Let me know if you want it higher and ill do it again. I think it seems to be coming up with an error about an invalid character after its finished scanning the channel but Im not sure what that means really so good luck with this. Cheers.
PS This scan seems to be the most filled that I have got.

In recent versions, the config app has had an option to reload entire EPG (default on)... for me, when using DVB EPG this results in a very sparsely populated EPG. Not sure why this is, but for the moment I'd say best to switch it off and tolerate the occasional programme listing overlap.

Yea I agree that there is no point in using DVB EPG at the moment but Bleb doesn have listings for all the channels I want so I want to use the DVB EPG to get listings for those channels.

Huugs, Just out of interest what channels do you not get listings for with the Nova-T. I get complete freeview listings and most other poular channels using Bleb and a Nova-T. I also haven't found them to be inaccurate or incomplete!!
