problems I'm having

Issue #1:

I'm now on v95.16, but ever since upgrading to 95.14 I've been seeing the errors shown in the quote snippet below appear in the log when using MyPictures:

I have just extracted a few of them from the log, but basically one of these is created with every new photo rendered by MyPictures.

The author of MyPictures (reven) states:

the "The object is currently in use elsewhere." probably isnt from my pictures, ive locked most things when using threads, and all drawing is actually done in the main thread (this use to be a common problem in mypics 2), so theres no reason (that i know of) for my pics 3 to generate this error. however i have seen this error but it was caused by gbpvr and not my pics.

BTW ... these errors occur regardless of whether I am running GB-PVR from my PC or from my MediaMVP. They don't crash anything, but they don't leave me with a warm, fuzzy either.

Any ideas?

Issue #2:

Since, 95.14, using the MediaMVP I am running into many instances of crashing the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server with this type of error appearing in the log (sorry its a long one, too long to paste, so I've attached it as a TXT file):

I can tell you that this only occurs when I'm running GB-PVR from my MediaMVP and MyMusic is actively playing tunes ... no matter where I am in the GB-PVR menu system if I hold down any of the up, down, right or left arrow keys on the MediaMVP remote (so that I can get a faster scroll through the items on the screen), OR even if I press one of the keys in succession without waiting at least 2 or 3 seconds between presses it will cause the GB-PVR MediaMVP Server to crash, sometimes irrecoverably and other times simply causing the MediaMVP to drop the connection (due to a timeout) and then re-connect. (NOTE: When it ends up being irrecoverable, like it was for the log above, I have to "End Task" on GB-PVR.exe, because if I left or right click on it it in the task bar I just get a system beep and no response from the app).

I can reproduce this behavior without fail ... BUT I can only do so if MyMusic is active. It also doesn't only happen when I'm in the MyMusic screen. As an example it happened when I had MyMusic playing some of my favorite blues tunes and I was scrolling through XGuide to find shows that I wanted to record. I held the right arrow key to get to a place on the next day that I wanted to view and the MediaMVP ended up disconnecting and re-connecting.

The author of MyMusic (again, reven) states:

i have no idea, the only thing my music will be doing when its not active is listening (not actively even) for gbpvr events, video stopping, tv starting, music track changed etc (not anything like "keydown"), to update the music panel (the panel you see inside my music/pictures, not the one on the main menu).

I will also say that I was experiencing these types of crashes in 94.13 and I upgraded to 95.14 (and now 95.16) in the hopes that it would fix the issue as I perceived this to be the MVP timeout issue which was reported as being resolved in 95.14.

Any ideas on this one?

SUB ... Do you own and use a MediaMVP? If so, do you use a gbpvr plugin to stream your digital photos to it? If so, which one do you use? The only one I know about is MyPictures .. are there others?

I'm finding both MyPictures and MyMusic to be buggy when using the MediaMVP .. they work great on the PC though (although MyPictures does generate the errors in the log I described above when used from either the PC or MediaMVP).

REVEN doesn't own a MediaMVP so he is unable to assist on this one. I really want to be able to stream my digital photos to the MediaMVP. MyPictures is the only plugin created thus far that will do that.

I also want to be able to Queue up entire folder and subfolder structures of MP3's and be able to shuffle the order of playback, without necessarily having to pre-create playlists. MyMusic seems to be the only candidate in this category as well.

Unfortunately the tremendous lack of stability of both of these plugins with respect to playback via the MediaMVP is really frustrating.

Are there any other plugin candidates that you would recommend? I tried the other Music plugins offered via the wiki but they either didn't work or didn't offer the ability to queue up all digital music contained within a top level folder and all subfolders.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated here. I feel like I'm so close, but yet so far.

Yes, I do own and use an MVP, but no I dont view picture on it. This isnt really a feature I was interested in.

I dont really know what to tell you. I dont use these plugins, or have access to the source code to them, so there isnt really anything I can do.

I don't use MyPictures and instead use the older Pictures Plugin. It works fine with the MVP for me. Here's a thread with a link to the download:

It hasn't been updated for a while and I haven't seen the author around lately(?)

I just use the Music Library plugin for playing MP3's and it also works fine for me over the MVP.
