Search Guide - typing with remote

in search guide (the default one) whenever i press a number key all i get is a number.

Is there a way of making it like a cellphone for text, and is there a way of back spacing?

No, there is currently no support for text entry via the remote on this screen.

i imagine that could be useful.

I know with some of my plugins i could use it.
If i wrote one as a fairly generic accept numbers and make then into letters etc, under 1 second gap, treat it as the next letter etc.

If there any way your plugins, or others could interface with it??

Would this be useful in your view?

I do intend to add this at some point, but I just havnt got to it yet. I already have this sort of text entry in a couple of places ('recording prefix' in manual recording as an example).

There is a text input library for using the remote built into the commongbpvrutilities.dll library. You can look at the weather plug-in source code for an example of how to use it.

I've got the weather source easily enough.

Is phonekeys skinnable??

Also whenever I hit the 2 key, it always seems to start with 'B', and whenever i type a letter (eg a) it puts out two of them.

I had a quick go with a remote control entry class, and made it skinnable, and had a graphic up to show caps/lower case.
