I went through the steps pictured to learn a remote control using the USB UIRT but some of the functions aren't operating the way they should.

Mute, NavUp(Channel Up?), NavDown(Channel Down?) not mapped out correctly? There may be more that I haven't tested.

OK..... GBPVR misbehaves with duplicate codes.

What do you mean by "duplicate codes"?
I'm not always right

I'm using this remote here

When I tried to learn the code for the Channel Up, Channel Down, Nav Up, & Nav Down buttons, GBPVR acted all weird. I cleared out the Channel Up & Down and left just the Nav Up/Down and it went back to normal. Channel Up and Nav Up is using the same IR code so I think that was the problem. Didn't do further testing, but I think thats the problem.

Hope it helps.

But you do have different buttons on the remote for Ch up and Nav up, so, it'd be quite easy to test if changing to separate ir codes would help...

Yup, I can always learn the Channel Up/Down IR Code from another remote and teach it back to the USB-UIRT. No matter, everything is working the way I want it to.

Another thing. Controlling GBPVR this way seems to have fix an issue I had with the program not blasting out the IR code to my external tuner. Someone else had the same problem. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=14531. Before I knew about this learning feature, I was using the Hauppauge IR Reciever to control GBPVR.
