pctv HD3000... anyone get this to work?

this card is listed on the compatible capture card list. it's a hdtv card that uses conexant blackbird drivers. i've installed all the drivers ok, but when i attempt to watch livetv, i get "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

the pvr150 card works ok. below is from the log file. thanks!

I only remember one guy that ever used this card. Supposedly it was working fine, but that was quite a while ago.

The one thing that stands out for me is the error message looks like you've selected the wrong type of card. This message wouldnt be generated when you select a BDA device like the pctv HD3000.

Zip and attach a complete set of logs and I'll see if I can see anything obvious.

i changed the plug-in type to BDA and now i'm getting the message...

"No channels have been set up. Please run the Configuration utility and setup the EPG source. Use the 'Update EPG' button to force the system to import the latest set of channel and programme information."

of course, i've gone back into the config and Updated EPG but still get this message. any clues?

thanks for the quick response! would save me some money if i can get this card to work. otherwise, i'd have to go get the ATI HDTV Wonder.

after looking at it again, looks like i'm loosing EPG channels. i go into the config and Enable various HD channels. then i exit the config and run gbpvr and it tells me i have no channels setup. i go back into the config, and my enabled channels are all unchecked.

oh sweet! i got hdtv! you have confirmation from another user that the HD3000 card works.

sorry about not seeing the ATSC tuning guide. i'm new with gbpvr and missed during my install.

one word about the hd3000 card... it's popular in the mythtv world. there probably would be alot more ex-mythtv users (like me) going gbpvr if they knew they could still use their tuner cards.

now if i can adjust my antenna to get a strong signal...

Teddy3501 did you get yours working? I managed to get past the EPG problem and am now trying to use GraphEdit to fix the "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I now have GraphEdit. So what do I do with it Sub?

i got it to work, but i could only pick up one channel since i live in an apartment building. not sure why you need GraphEdit since i didn't need to do anything with it for hd3000. here's what i did

1. download the driver disk from http://www.pchdtv.com/ (software shipped on CD)
2. install the drivers. make sure you read the pdf file for windows setup!
3. check Control Panel | System | Hardware | Device Manager to make sure you installed all drivers ok. (should be no unknown devices)
4. read http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/C...fineHDTVSource to setup your channels
5. enjoy hdtv.

that's all i did and i got one channel ok. was disappointing that i couldn't pick up any other channels due to bad location.

they one time i had the "object reference" error was when i didnt set Recording Source to "BDA Recording Plugin" in gbpvr config. the default is "Direct Recording Plugin"... make sure you change that.
