remote PVR150 and sattellite receiver

I'm new to all this and I truly need help. I bought a Hauppauge PVR150 with a remote (the one with the green windows button in the center). here it is: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...50#PVR1062

My express Vu receiver is connected throught a S-video and rca composite wire for the audio. I downloaded GB-PVR and it work pretty well except for a lesser high-quality image than when I use win-tv2000. I was able to register to zap2it and to download the EPG.

I want to set my remote to control the sattellite receiver and it doesn't work at all. When I choose LiveTV in GBPVR, I can see the TV but when I change channel with the hauppauge remote, it only change the descrition of a channel on my computer screen but does not affect my sat receiver, it always stay on the same channel. How can I configure my remote to actually switch channel.

Can I change the quality of the image I get to get the same quality as when I use wintv2000?

The there is no built in support for the IR blaster or remote included with that specific package, but I think it can be made to work with the addition of the free HIP software. Its been discussed a few times in the past, so the forum search feature should turn up something.

Am I imagining things, or did the PVR150 used to work out of the box with GBPVR? Im sure I had it working before without using any extra software except the Hauuppage blaster software...

Yeah, I've got the PVR150 working just fine after setting up the IR Blaster with the Hauppauge software..

but I think the OP has the PVR150-MCE Kit model that actually comes with the IR hardware (beanbag and transmitter) as an add-on to MCE boxes. (not the OEM one that you see everywhere; that one doesnt have any IR hardware I believe)

I have a expressVU 6100HD box and could never program the remote. I have the IR200L but could not get it to read from the remote. I looked and gave up. All I could think was that the blaster is ir but the expressVU remote is UHF\IR, so you can program it for your vcr but when it sends to the expressVU box it only sends UHF maybe. I was able to program gbpvr with my vcr remote and my pansat remote as a test but not the expressVU remote.
I did see some place once that if you are running windows MCE that it has codes built in for the expressVU box and will function with GBPVR

I don't want to hijack the OP thread... but how did you get gbpvr working with Hauppauge ir blaster? I don't see any options in config in regards to it.

You need to set the channel changer to ".exe changer plugin", and point it to your HaupBlast.exe (I think that is what the exe is called that comes with the pvr-150?)

HaupBlast.exe is written by me, so you'll find it in the c:\programfiles\devnz\gbpvr directory.
