Hey all,

I just did a quick search and couldn't really find an answer to what I'm going through. If I missed something glaringly obvious, I'm sorry.

I've got a pvr-150MCE with the MCE remote that comes with it. GBPVR working fine, I've got a theme I like for now, and recording seems OK (just upped the default recording quality to high, so that should be good).

Anyway, the remote works fine in the guide and live tv, but it doesn't work 100% anywhere else in GBPVR. If I'm watching a recorded show, I can't fast forward, skip ahead, or even go back to the main menu until it's finished. If I'm watching a dvd, I can navigate the menu, pick things (like a chapter to jump to), but once I play, I can't skip to the next chapter or jump backwards. I can't even pause or stop. I can go to a chapter by entering it manually, but there's nothing displayed on the screen, so I have to assume I'm entering in the right chapter.

Any tweaks I can do to get this working? Any key mapping (or deffinitions applet) I can do? The issue with not showing the keys I'm typing on the screen is the smallest of the annoyances, but I'd like to clear that up if possible.

Does any of this have to do with the players associated with the functions. For example, my dvd player installed is intervideo windvd. Would it be different if I installed cyberlink? Is there a way to define something like Media Player Classic or VLC as defaults? I'd like to go all free software if possible.

I know, this is probably 4 posts in one, but thanks for any help anyone can pass along.

This is probably an obvious thing, but did you set GBPVR to use MCE remote in the config app?
An MCE remote gives you some functionality through windows itself because it's like a mini keyboard.
So it'll work up to a point even if you don't set GBPVR to use it.

OMG, thank you so much. Now I feel like an idiot. I just thought since it was a remote that came with a hauppauge card, it would be considered a hauppauge remote. I thought I had read somewhere that it wasn't a real MCE remote, that it was a bastardization of one.

Hmmm, that makes me wonder if that's what I was doing wrong in linux and lirc.

Another task of mine to conquer soon is to configure my One-for-all remote. Don't worry, I won't get into that here.

Thanks again.
