I live on the east coast in USA and have GBPVR setup to update EPG's from zap2it at 3AM everyday. It seems like since I upgraded to v0.94.13 it hasn't been auto-updating properly. I have to manually open the config app and update the EPG. This is an XP Pro box which is set to never go to sleep. Is there a log somewhere that I can check to see if the update is working properly? I went to zap2it and checked to make sure my account hadn't expired (had this happen once) and it was showing that it is still good until 12/16/2005.

I'm having the same problem, but haven't found a solution. I'm checking and posting my log tonight, but so far I haven't found an answer to the problem.

I think there are a lot of zap2it users having the same problem. If you can update your EPG manually then it's most likely a problem with the time you've chosen to update. I have a feeling that things are getting clogged up at the 3am witching hour. Try moving to some other time. I moved mine to 1pm and have been ok since.

Check your zap2it account. I've had to go and renew it several tiimes. Seems like unless you take their survey every 3 months or so, your account times out.

Try:

Thanks for the responses. I'll try moving the update time, and will post the results. I refreshed the account (i.e. took their survey) about a month ago. I logged in manually to zap2it last night to make sure my account was still active. It said it was good until 12/16/05.

I have the same problem, moving my time to another hour. My other problem is I can ONLY refresh the EPG in config.exe, cannot from the Systray icon.

Hi all,

I just joined the forum to discuss this topic, as I am having the same problem. I will try switching my update from 3 am to an earlier time to see if that is the ticket and report back!

I have had this problem for a while now and moving the update time has not changed anything. I've tried a variety of update times including 5am, 10am & 2pm without any success. A manual update from the system tray or config.exe works without any issues.

I am wondering if it is a problem with waking from S3, so I am planning to leave my system on tonight and see if the update comes down. I'll report back tomorrow.

I tested the auto-update while keeping the computer powered-up and it worked without any problems. So in my case the problem seems to be tied to waking the computer from S3. I'll try to run an update over the weekend, when I have time to watch the process.

Just in case I am missing something obvious, my setup is as follows:
Biostar Nforce2 motherboard
1700+ processor
768 mb ram
GBPVR v94.13
WinXP sp1
Recording to a network share. (wakes & records correctly)

Widman:

I have the exact same problem. Mine, in s3 suspend, will not do the epg updates. I watched it once last weekend and it woke up correctly just before 6pm (my setting) but it went back to sleep just over a minute later. GBPVR never even had a chance to try to do the update so no log entries. I hope to investigate more this weekend. I will post back if I find anything.
