Hi.

As I have the opportunity to buy the MVP from US for a fraction of the price i´n DK, I just want to briefly ask if the version sold in the US has a 110V PSU or a universal 110-220V PSU?

TIA

what about ntsc/pal problems? wouldn't there be any? in such case maybe we should look into buying from the states instead of from sweden. =)

DOH! :o

<ahemm...>It was late when I wrote the question :o Rolleyes

Well, that effectively closes down that option. At least they are less expensive in DK than in SE. I'll just order another one here in DK and stop whining.

Hm... my tv states it handles both ntsc and pal, but I haven't had the opportunity to try it. What about the (NTSC) MVP handling mpgConfused created by a PAL pvr-350? Would that matter at all? And then we have the problem with cabling... the mvp in europe comes with a scart cable, what about an MVP from the states?

wtg: Yeah - You are right. I'll get a NTSC 50" HD-rdy flat screen rig while I'm at it, and get my friend who was going to bring me the MVP to please bring "just another small item" with him on the flight from Miami... Big Grin

stefan: I was actually thinking the same - and then it struck me, that with the MediaMVP it is SW selectable if it outputs PAL or NTSC. So it should be fine from that standpoint.

Cabling should be OK. The US version has S-VHS and RCA jacks for audio, which should be easily handled with one of the converter adapters S-VHS -> scart I already have.

Unless there is a quality issue with the S-VHS being of lesser quality than scart, I am back on eBay for a couple of MVPs. Anyone who knows about the quality part of it?

If you do decide to try one, have your friend check out their local Radio Shack. In case you've missed the many other posts about it, they've been putting them on clearance for $39.98. They aren't listed on their website, but if your friend calls one or goes in, they can check their stock or any stores in the surrounding areas.

I don't recall the Radio Shack part # off hand, but it's been put in several posts. The Radio Shack guys can look it up easier that way, and you don't have them telling you they've never carried anything like that (a couple people have had that experience).

Sounds like it would almost be cheaper for me to ask nia to ask his friend to pick one up for me, too, and then for me to drive to denmark and get it from nia... There are stores around here that do not hesitate to charge you US$187 for one...

Thanks wtg. I got the part number 25-3215, and I'm already writing my friend to get him down to Radio Shack and find out how many he can bring (I've pushed the GBPVR concept here in my company, so there are a lot of potential customers for any surplus when I have put one in every room in my own house, which is possible at that price).

Stefan: I'll see if I can get you one - or if you need further help on Danish shops let me know.
