2 capture sources

I have an Hauppauge 150 with cable running into using the internal tuner. Would adding an external cable box to the composite input allow me to record 2 channels at the same time? Or watch 1 and record on the other? If so how would I need to set it up? Thanks in advance for any help.

The device only has the one encoder, so only one could be used at a time.
