Hi everyone,

I do have some problems with that new version (95.14).

First of all, my config didn't tune the DVB-T channels correctly,i run several scans : sometimes I had "no channels found", some times the channels were named "UnknownX" where X was a number from 1 to 6, and for each transponder there were always the same six channels found... To correct this, I had to set BDAUsePsiParser tag to "false", that works now, i can watch the channels in the "map digital channels to EPG channels" config panel.

But I still can't watch LiveTv or Tv Guide, it says "No channels have been set up..." but in fact, all the channels are set up, the xmltv file is correct, in the channels tab in config, all the channels are set as favourite and have unique number.

I post there all the files that I think might help you, thank you for looking at this when you have a moment.

You're doing a great job.

I'm guessing you either didnt map the channels on the left hand side of the "map digital channels to EPG channels" window, or you didnt tick the 'enabled' check for the channel?

I am curious to know why the BDAUsePsiParser set to true caused you problems. This is going to be a big part of DVB support in GB-PVR going forward, so I'd like to be aware of any problems with it.

Is there any chance you could set it back to 'true' then do a channel scan and post your config.exe.log?

Oups yes you're right, I totally didn't have seen those checkboxes.

Of course, there it is ! The scan that generated this log return me "no channels found"... I'll try to have the "UnknownX"-named channels problem again to post there the corresponding log...

Anyway, thank you for having showed me how blind i am with my "enabled-boxes" issues...

Sorry to be a pain, but is there any chance you could do a scan again with the PsiParser enabled? Can you create a HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\devnz\LogPSIProcessing=1 (DWORD) registry setting first.

Now when you do a scan, it'll create a c:\psi.log file with lots of useful information for me. If you could zip and email this file to me at support@devnz.com it would be very helpful.

Remember to either delete the setting, or set it to LogPSIProcessing=0 afterwards so that you dont keep generating this potentiall massive log file.

Thanks.

Hi Sub,

i also have some trouble with my DVB-T (Terratec Cinergy T2) with the new 95.14 Version.

1. More or less as an info:
I used to have some channels AC3 sound, but after the update the sound for those channels was gone. Only some cracking noise sometimes.
But by setting "BDAQuickPidSwitch" in the config.xml to false i could fix that. Now AC3 is running as before.

2. The major problem is that timeshifting is not working anymore. Everytime i start it either gbpvr will crash completly using 100% of cpu and crash the whole PC also or it will produce an error-message. I've added two log files so you can look at it. The gbpvr.exe.log has parts from two log-files in it. One where it crashed to whole PC and one where it produced the error-message.
And the gbpvr.exe-native.log is both times the same, so i send you only one.
By the way i use the cyberlink multiplexer to produce mpeg files but also tested the intervideo one and the DVR-MS. Only with the DVR-MS timeshifting works but then also my recordings would be DVR-MS and at least for the recodings i need real/clear MPEG. And maybe also interresting for you is that playing an older recording from the recordings page works fine.

3. The teletext will also not work for me. It will only show the first row with current site, then the (0) for a site to enter and the time. But no pages at all.

Thanks in advance for help

Hiya Sub. Any chance you could whet our appetites and give us an idea of what your plans are for DVB? Go on! Wink

To be honest, I really havnt got any plans for new DVB features, but I knew GB-PVR needed to have a better understand of what is going with DVB transport stream at all times, which is why this new PSI parser was introduced. Previously I only had a very static snapshot of things at the time you did the scan (lists of PIDs etc). Now with this PSI parser, GB-PVR has a dynamic view of this sort data, and it is always up to date. It also gives me access to data I've not been able to get at before.

I'll probably use this new info I have available to me, to dynamically detect changed PIDs etc.

Sorry, not very exciting I know, but this extra information I now have will be very useful going forward. Probably two thirds of the development time in v0.95 went into this one thing.

The PSI provides all sorts of extra meta-data about the stream.

Could you now, for instance, use the Time and Date Table to synchronize the PC's clock with the broadcast?

And, most usefully, the Running Status Table which is well-used to provide up-to-date information about programmes (e.g. if they are over-running etc). It even provides a "starts in a few seconds" signal. Isn't this information ideal for PVR purposes? The "few seconds" giving enough time to start the recording process.

Would also be great to see programme genre information gathered along with the DVB-EPG, and a method for plugins to access this info.

Just a few thoughts on how best to use all the available info...
