Hi all,
I've had my pvr set up for the last 3 weeks and it's been working atreat...love it.
I'm using an athlon xp2600 setup with 2 nova t's(90002).
Been recording loads of stuff no probs, last night however, i got a 0kb recording, and anything i try to record now comes out as 0kb. I've been using the cyberlink 5.0.0.813 and it's been fine.
Ive tried updating to the 5.0.1307 but i've still got the problem.

Nothing occurred to the gbpvr system that i can see, any ideas why it might have just stopped working.....I'm at a bit of a loss, I can post the native.log if it will help, but reading through it, the recording starts and stops at the correct time, but the file stays at 0kb...

baffled......

cheers all

Do you devices still work if you try them in any other app?

zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look. Also let me know what time you thought a recording should have occured.

I haven't tried recording in wintv2000 yet....I'll try it tomorrow.....it's gone midnight here and I have to br up at five for work....

i'll attatch the recording logs that I have, there seems to be a few of them....cheers for the reply graham, if there's any more info I can provide just say.....I'll post it tomorrow. I tried various recordings between about 1600 and 1900, backlash, itv news, bbc news, all gave me 0kb recordings.

any help much appreciated.

Cheers

I can see whats happening. You've got it configured to use the Cyberlink mux, but this is not found on your machine, so its ends up falling back to use the Hauppauge MPEG Muxer, which is known to not work.

Quote:18:39:00.234 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: CyberLink MPEG Muxer

Quote:18:39:03.093 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Sections and Tables
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - BDA MPEG2 Transport Information Filter
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - GB-PVR Writer
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - BDA MPE Filter
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - Hauppauge WinTV MPEG2 Muxer
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - Hauppauge WinTV 88x TS Capture
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod
18:39:03.093 VERBOSE - Microsoft DVBT Network Provider

So, either reinstall the Cyberlink mux, or switch to using the Microsoft DVR-MS mux.

ah....missed that line.....That explains a lot, however, Muxchecker found the original cyberlink mux(...813) and now reports the "new" version(...1307).I reregistered the original to no effect before i tried changing.....

and more to they point, what could cause it to "lose" the mux all of a sudden....it's been running fine, the pc stays on 24/7, never sleeps, never hibernates

Switching to dvr-ms produces recordings with a good file size, however, they don't play on the MVP.

I'll play later, it's half five on a sunday morning and I have to go to work.....

Cheers sub..

I dont know, but the log is pretty clear that that is the problem.

They would play if the Cyberlink mux is usuable on your machine. :p

ah.......i see......will keep playing then.

Where do you recommend keeping the mux?could i put it in the gbpvr folder or is it best to leave it in with the app which installed it?

Cheers
