I currently have several files that have been recorded that do not appear in the Recordings folder. Also some of my recently recorded programs have a file saved on my hard drive which plays in Windows Media Player, but will not play through gbpvr. Additionally I can view and see my missing files if I look under the Video dicrectory but again they will not play through gbpvr. When they begin the screen is black and the time-line says the recording is only 10 seconds long.

1) How do I get gbpvr to reconize all of the recorded programs?

2) How do I get the files it can find to play?

I just upgraded to the newest version, and that did not fix the problem. Also all of the files are in the correct spot, meaning I may have 7 actual recordings on my hard drive but gbpvr only displays 3. Thanks in advance

There was a bug in v0.95.11 and v0.95.14 that could cause recordings to be recorded in the wrong directory, and result in the recordings not being listed in the available list in GB-PVR. v0.95.16 fixes this issues so that no future recordings will do this, but it cant correct the few recordings that were made by this bug in the preceeding versions.

If a file cant play, it'll be because of the combination of Directshow filters installed on your machine. Try playing one of these, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll see if I can tell you what is going wrong

Sub,

Thanks for looking into this. Attached is the native log when I attempt to watch a show from the recording menu. I play the video back to my TV, and all of the files gbpvr show available behave the same way. The title appears with a black screen and the time-line is 00:00 - 00:00. No video or audio.

Thanks again

For some reason its failing to connect to the MPEG2 decoder on the PVR350. Your easiest fix will be to set the 'hardware decoder' setting to 'none - use software decoding'. I dont officially support the PVR350's tv out any more. It should still work, but I no longer test any releases on this hardware decoder, so its always possible I've broken something.

I will try that but I built this on an old celeron 850, so I use the 350 out to save processor power. Can I roll back to an older version?

Thanks again

Sub,

I found a work around, I hope you don't mind. For the fie config-master.dont-edit-me I copied the file and changed the <HardwareDecoder>None - Use Software Decoder </HardwareDecoder> to "<HardwareDecoder>Hauppauge PVR350</HardwareDecoder>"

Now everything works again. Unfortunately without that hardware decoder I can't use your awesome software. I built my PVR with a really old computer and it can't handle the video without the Hauppauge card. Celeron PIII 850 with only 512MB RAM. Thanks again for all your help pointing me in this direction. Hopefully you can continue supporting this feature for other users who have to use the hauppauge 350 out.

Thanks
Johnny
