GB-PVR installation without Tuner Card?

Can the GB-PVR software be installed without a tuner card? I just wanted to check out the interface, and maybe use it to playback Videos and Music.

I tried it, but after installation, I get an error running config.exe. I didn't see any error messages in the Event Log, so I am unsure what the problem might be.

Sounds like you didnt have .net 1.1 installed. It wont work with .net 2.0.

That might be it. I saw the 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322' folder and thought I had it loaded. Downloading now.

Why won't it work with .NET 2.0.

I've just had to rebuild my PC from scratch and that is what comes down the pipe from Microsoft Windows Update as default. So it seems that GBPVR is un-installable...not good.

So what we are saying is that I have to get rid of .Net 2.0 and get back to 1.1 somehow. Wonderful.

Because .net 2.0 only came out a couple of months ago, and I've not had a chance to change all my development tools etc so that I generate .net 2.0 binaries. I will add .net 2.0 support some time in the near future.

No, you can install them both on your machine.

Sub. Thanks for the info, I'll try installing 1.1 as well. I just assumed, incorrectly, that the new one would work as well. I'd become so reliant on GBPVR that I was worried after the rebuild that I'd lost it.
