I am a new user of GBPVR & I have to say I am really impressed this is the HTPC software I have found that will do what I want. Well done to all those involved.

Having spent the last couple of days configuring things I have a couple of problems I can't seem to figure out.

My setup is as follows :-

Athlon XP 3000+
1 GB Mem
Geforce 6200
300 GB HDD
Windows XP SP2 all updated
Latest Drivers for all hardware
ATI Theartrix 550
Nebula DVB-T with BDA drivers

When watching live tv on the Nebula I get constant stuttering it is very random & can last 30 sec or a bit longer. I have tried different combinations of video & audio decoders & BDA multiplexer. The results do vary according to what I use, but have found that using Intervideo decoders with Cyberlink BDA multiplexer is as good as it gets.

Playing back a recording made by the Nebula is fine - I only get stuttering on Live TV with or without Live Preview Mode.

My other issue is with my Media MVP. It actually works really well apart from when I watch live TV or a recording that is on the ATI 550 card the bottom 15% of the picture is missing it is just black. If I use the Nebula card it is still stuttering but the picture is complete. When viewing menus everything is fine.

Can anybody help me with these 2 issues?

Many thanks

Is this on the MVP or PC?

There is a bug in the ATI drivers which doesnt set the video standard to PAL automatically for users in PAL countries (so you end up get 480 lines, not the full 576 lines). You should be able to work around this by editing direct.ini and setting ForceStandard=16 to force PAL-B/G, or ForceStandard=256 to force PAL-I.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I get stuttering on bothe the PC & MVP, but the MVP does not seem quite as bad.

Changing the ForceStandard cured the MVP problem.

I went for broke & tried to install my FireDTV-s card, but now have a problem there. I try to scan for channels on 28e & although it is showing a signal I get no found channels. Is there something I am missing here?

Thanks again

Reproduce the problem (for about 5 minutes), then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

I've never really had much luck with my FireDTV-S device. I dont know why, but seems to be have differently to other BDA devices I've tried.

The weird thing with my FireDTV is that it is now picking up some channels after about the 20th time. I did install and scan using MyTheatre 1st though. Also removed the cam.

Did you have any further thoughts on the stuttering on live TV through the Nebula card?

Thanks
