Quick newbie question!

Am I right in thinking that i don't need to install the mvp software on my HTPC as if correctly setup GBPVR handles all the streaming etc?

Thats usually the case. The MVP does require a DHCP to be available on the network. GB-PVR does not provide this, but the Hauppauge software does. This just means you'd either need a router with DHCP functionality, or install a DHCP server on your machine. Most people already have one on their home network somewhere.
