A quick question

Hi all
I have a wintv express card and works a treat with GV-PVR using the softwarerecorder plugin....gr8

one problem is that I cant view liveTV, it just says "no tuners are available..",
I am wondering if I require an MPG2 Codec to view. If so, I will think about purchasing a PVR350 instead....

Any help welcome.

first make sure, you have not activated live preview mode. than you'll need a mpeg2-decoder (not ENcoder), which comes with every dvd-software. or try the dscaler-one, it's free and quite good.

Have checked that the capture and preview settings are both set to capture in the software recorder config file, i have also set the software mpg playback to the Hauppauge decoder (VMR9) enabled. Also disabled the live preview in misc.

stil wont display on mvp.....

any more ideas?

ok....deep breath..... have put in a pctv 300i card alongside the wintv go/express card, using the softrecorder plugin, can view both cards on the pc via the gbpvr......two problems exist

1, cant view time shift tv via the mvp
2, cant record from gbpvr or the mvp

have taken the advice of disabling preview setting.

anyone have a similar setup working without the unessesary expense of a software encoder? Is the software encoder necessary?
