HI,

GBPVR appears to spike my cpu usage every 30 seconds. This is only an issue since it causes a slight stutter when playing back recordings. This problem has only appeared recently with 0.95.16.

I looked in the log and the spike in CPU usage appears to correspond with the following events:

1/30/2006 10:08:44 PM.531 VERBOSE [4259] RecordingFactory.loadSchedule()
1/30/2006 10:08:44 PM.531 VERBOSE [4259] getValue cached value: /settings/AutoRemoveMissingRecordings : true
1/30/2006 10:09:14 PM.531 VERBOSE [4052] RecordingFactory.loadSchedule()
1/30/2006 10:09:14 PM.531 VERBOSE [4052] getValue cached value: /settings/AutoRemoveMissingRecordings : true

Is this normal? Is there any way I can get the PVR to cut back on this? Is this possibly the result of a pluggin or utility rather than GBPVR itself?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Here is a thread that discusses a 30 sec "hicup" issue that some of us are experiencing. It may be the same thing you are seeing. It is being looked into by sub.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the heads up. Looks pretty much the same, although the log reports are different. THink I will just need to try out sub's fix when it is released. More likely than not it will clear things up.

Hey Tipstir,

Comskip was one of my original suspects, but it should only run after/durring a recording - depending on the settings.

I monitored the system through the task manager and it was clear to me that comskip was not running. The cpu spike corresponds directly to the "hiccup" in the recording being played. This also appears to correspond with GBPVR becoming the active task. The only other thing consuming CPU on my system at the time I monitored was the system idle process. I believe that some process switchs might be too fast to catch on the task monitor, but pretty sure that GBPVR is a significant contributor to issue.

sub, you should make the original thread about this sticky until you get the fix release out. It'll add years on to your life.
