I recently install GB-PVR and have been unable to get it to display LiveTv either though the Live TV or Guide selections. Sometimes I get a static screen and other times nothing happens. The installation seemed to go ok and the guide data downloaded ok from Zap2IT.

I do have two tuners in the Pc one is a Hauppague 250 and the other is a Hauppague USB2. I told GB-PVR to use the USB2 tuner as the tuning device . The 250 does not have a cable feed connected to it. How does the GB-PVR know to select the USB2 and not the 250? I did a search but did not find much information on multiple tuner problems. Any help would be appreciated.

GB-PVR picks which tuner to used based on what channels are available for that tuner. This list of channels is derived from the EPG source for that capture source. So you want to make sure you only enable the channels which are available for each device.

Does the tuning assistant show up your channels?

If your PV250 is new, you may be having the problem a few users had. A new model was release recently that included a new tuner. This tuner didn't work correctly with 3rd party applications until a new driver from Hauppauge was installed.

Thanks for the replys . First I only installed the USB2 capture device and downloded the EPG for that device whihc I assume is Device number one in the configuration program. I never set up the 250 because as I said I have no Cable feed connected to it so it can't be used. I tried using the tunning assistant and this gave me error about pins etc after which it did start to go through the channels. However I canceled the process after about 10 channels but when I did this I did get a normal LiveTv picture and sound. However this lasted only until I shut down GBPVR. When I tried starting it again I was back at the Static Screen. However when I tried to change channels I got error message something to the effect of Failure playing back file. Somehow I think it is trying to use the 250 tuner.

One last bit of information. The only way I have been able to get a live tv picture is to use the tunning assistant while GB-PVR is running and then after about 10 channels the picture pops up. This last only for that session. Once I shut it down I have to again use the tunning assistant to get a live TV picture. It also seems to take a fair amount of time to change channels. It seems to freeze up with multiple channel changes.

So I am not sure why these problems exist. The installation seemed to have gone ok I did connect to Zap2IT and I do have the EPG downloaded. I do have MCE and SageTv loaded on the same machine so I'M not sure what codecs are being used although I did try and select the Intervideo NCSS which did no seem to improve things. Regards,

What is exact text of the pin connection error message you get with the Tuning Assistant?

Also, can you try it again in GB-PVR, then email you logs to me at support@devnz.com.

Well I have uninstalled GP-PVR so I will reinstall it and see if I can give you the information you are looking for. I would like to be able to use the program to evaluate it. Thanks.
