During the weekend I got gbpvr running on a windows 2000 box with an MVP and a 500mce. I was amazed at how smoothly most everything went. I was also very pleased because I didn't have any trouble with the audio or video - my small amount of experience with codecs in the past was bad... I thought I was just in tweaking mode...

I had been using dongle.bin with it set to autostart one server. I had occasional disconnects so I installed the MVP related patch. I noticed on playback through the MVP I'd have the occasional video glitch - multi colored boxes. I decided to try gbpvr.bin to see if it would improve performance. Things went very bad. Video and audio stuttered. The really disturbing thing is this started happeneing, both at the compter and through the MVP. I went back to dongle.bin - the video got better but the sound continued to stutter. I unplugged the MVP and set the autostart back to zero. Sound still stutters at the computer and I have no idea how to fix it. This was working perfectly before I tried gbpvr.bin. Recordings that used to play fine now sound terrible. There is a stutter in the sound with faint static. The video still appears good.

The only things I'm using beyond the base software is the ContourHC skin and comskip.

In the config application I have played around in the playback tab, changing the Audio Decoder, Video Decoder, and Audio Renderer. I've tried several different combinations, and none of them seem to make any difference. The combination the worked originally was everything set to default.

I don't even know where to start to fix this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled gbpvr to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PowerDVD. When I try to play one of my recorded files in Windows Media Player I get an error that says "One or more the the codecs requred to open this content could not be found" - and then it plays jsut like it does in gbpvr. The video looks good, the audio stutters.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Merlynn
