I'd like to update my power supply and I was wondering what the best power supply to get is, and of course the quietest, I need enough power for 2 cd drives, 2 sata hd's and 2 regular hd's, and about 3 case fans......

Thanks

P.S. and best prices??

I can't recommend this web site enough. Has info on all components - PSU page here.

Help me update my GBPVR pc to a wisper quiet spec (see sig). For prices it depends where you're from but I've used quietpc.com with no problems.

I swear by my seasonic 380w psu its very quiet, (in your case I'd play safe and get the 430w version) if you want silent then get a fanless psu.

Wow, I'v never heard of a fanless power supply......are they just as good as the ones with fans???

Just seems like they would overheat fast......

they are designed to run high temperatures, so should be fine I suggest you look at thte link mcbainuk gave you as there are a few reviews of fanless psus.

I have a Zalman ZM300. silentpcreview only rates it a '4', but I can't hear it.

it should be noted that PSUs with fans do a pretty good job of cooling your entire system down so a fanless one is only recomended if you have a relatively cool system

I bought a QTechnology 460W from quietpc.com which powers my two HDD, two optical drives, a XP2100+ and a few other bits and pieces. Its definately quiet, I sometimes wonder if the pc is turned on!

To find out the wattage you require from a power supply have a look at the calculator at http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp
