Hello All,
I'm a little new to GBPVR, having just recently switched from MediaPortal. I have to say that I'm much happier with this program. The only setup issue I'm having is getting the post processing of recordings setup properly.
Right now, I'm using comskip after the recording has cmpleted and running comclean to cut out those pesky ads. That combination is working great and if anything, comskip is a little too permissive. By that I mean that it is more likley to leave some commercials in place than to mark show material and comclean butcher my recording.
I want to get it setup so that the file is transcoded to DivX AFTER comskip and comclean have done their magic. Right now, the transcoding starts at the same time as comskip and I end up with an mpg with no commercials and an avi with them. I would also like to have the transcoded file replace the original, leaving me at the end of all processes with one tiny little avi file in the folder(disk space is an issue for me). Any help is appreciated.

P.S. How can I adjust the DivX encoding properties? I had tried to run them through Converter manually, but DivX wants me to buy a $9.99 mpg plugin! I can't find anywhere in the DivX group with the encoder properties.
Thanks again,
Matt Burchett

Are you calling all of these from postprocessing.bat? If so they should be executed in order and wait for the previous command to finish before moving on to the next...

Comskip and Comclean are run from postprocessing, but the transcoding is done in the config of GBPVR.

Run comskip and comclean in Parallelprocessing.bat
You can never have enough tuners!

Divx? Pfff.... Use Xvid! Why? The quality/space ratio is better with xvid. Look at avsforum.com for more info on that.

Are you trying to setup an automatic cut, clean, and transcode? Thats what I do and this is how I do it.

I have my system record the show I want, rename it to the show with date and episode number, detect and remove the ads, transcode to .avi with xvid/256mp2, move the file to the destination of my choice based on the show it self.

Since I do not use GBPVR as a frontend and just for recording/sorting/cleaning of my video files, the setup I have is awesome for my needs. May vary from person to person

Anyways, here are the files I use...

With these files and mencoder, comclean, comskip, renamerecordings, and retime. I get what I want done and it makes me jizz my pants just thinking about it.

(Change the bitrate in transcodeQ.bat if you want to save sapce, higher=more lower=less)
