Can you try this with the blue skin?

Runs with Blue skin and also tried the "Base skin/ContourHC" and it works here also. Must be a "contourHC" skin problem. Unfortunately there are things that are not supported in the BaseSkin/ContourHC setup.

I do notice though that having started ad hoc TS I can't seem to get out of it. If I hit the STOP button it goes back to the main menu. If I think select LiveTV again it tells me there are no tuners but i can watch the program being recorded. Am I doing something wrong --- is there some other way to stop the ad hoc timeshift that I'm not using?

Sorry, thats not really something I can help you with.

Reproduce the problem and post the logs and I'll take a look.

I'm now testing full time time shifting and it still doesn't behave cleanly for me. This evening I restarted GBPVR with TS enabled about 18:30 EDT. It worked fine through at least one program change. Then at the end of a long program (the Path to 9/11 program) I changed channels to another program (Midsomer Murders).

However, when that program ended the video froze and I was unable to get out with repeated depression of the Exit button. At one point the weather portion of VAPanel display came on but nothing else. Each time I clicked Exit the weather display changed positions like a screen saver. Eventually I clicked Guide and the TV Guide did appear. However I was unable to move around in the Guide so I selected the program on CH 2. The "Starting timeshifting message" appeared and never changed. I exited back to the guide and was eventually able to reselelect CH 2 and the program video started. I was then able to manually enter the intended channel and it switched (Sherlock Holmes). However, the video was "jerky" and I exited back to the menu and re-entered TV successfully. TS is now running on the intended channel (Holmes).

The buffer directory was left with a large chunk of Midsomer Murders along with smaller bits of the CH 2 program and several pieces of Holmes, the last of which is incrementing. I cleared the others manually from Explorer.

Timeshifting is the most desireable feature of GBPVR and the one htat has never worked completely correctly for me. Frustrating.

Logs attached.

You could try the attached patch to see if it gives you any more control over things. This patch will honor the 'Live TV PrePlay delay' setting in the config app. The delay associated with this setting has been commented out in the code for the last year or so. This setting can be used to give the recording a little bit of time to grow before playback starts, which should help you remove any stuttering at startup or channel change time.

That said I've just spent the last wee while experimenting with Timeshift and it seems to be work pretty well for me.

The only error I can see in your logs is that in the first attempt to start recording Sherlock Holmes Mysteries (as part of the timeshift mode), the file did not start growing. No clues why in the logs though. It seems everything succeeded but the capture card did not start producing data. I've not seen this in any other users logs.

You wouldnt have needed to delete these. They would have been automatically remove in the next ten minutes or so.

Thanks. I've installed the DLL and I'll let you know how it turns out at the next opportunity.

FYI, I just tried ad hoc time shifting and received the same error I have received in the past: Error "Item has already been added. Key in dictionary..."
