Hi all,

I'm trying to get GBPVR to play back ISO files, but I'm running into problems. I've got Daemon Tools 4.30.1 and GBPVR 1.3.11 installed.

Proper physical DVDs play back fine, but when I go to the Video Library and select an ISO file I just get a black screen.

If there's a physical DVD in the drive, GBPVR will play that back instead.

If I've already mounted the ISO image outside of GBPVR (by double-clicking it in Windows Explorer), GBPVR will play it when I select the ISO in GBPVR. At least this tells me there's no codec problem.

All I can see in the logs is:
2009-06-20 19:06:40.560 ERROR pDvdControl->SetDVDDirectory() failed

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

In the Daemon Tools preferences, make sure you have "Secure Mode" disabled.

Reproduce the problem and then zip and attach the logs.

Hi,

Problem reproduced at 2125. I tried loading Human Traffic.ISO and 10000BC.ISO. In both cases, I got a black screen. Pressing STOP on the Hauppauge remote briefly shows the Video Library Menu, then GBPVR automatically jumps back to the main menu.

The ISOs are in G:\Movies, which is added to the video library as "movies". There's a physical DVD writer at D: and Daemon Tools is installed in the default path and uses a virtual drive at H: I've checked the path to the executable and the virtual drive are correct in the PVR Config program.

No DVD is loaded in the physical drive, and the virtual drive had no images mounted prior to the test.

What version of daemon tools are you using?
Is it the lite version?

I remember when I tried to use it, I changed the path to be the Daemon Tools Lite folder, and the logs still showed as using the Daemon Tools folder.

You might want to set your loggging level to debug in the config app and repost logs.

Yup, will definitely need to see debug logs.

Hi guys,

Apologies for the delay - been out of town for a few days. Debug logs attached from another attempt. This looks like the same problem that JohnnyCam had - I'm using the Lite version and the config continues to show the path as "\daemon tools\" not "\daemon tools lite\"

Is the lite version supported? Or do we need the full version? If I installed the full version somewhere odd, would the config app pick up that change, or is it essentially hardwired to the default DT install location?

Cheers, and thanks for the help Smile

The lite version will work but Config does not auto detect the path to your Daemon Tools installation. If it is not in the default location (like with the lite version), just click the "..." button next to the path, browse to proper location and then select the daemon.exe. You can also type in the proper path.

I've done that but the change isn't saved. When you quit the config app, the recording service restarts, but when you re-run the config the path still shows the original default. Checking config.xml also shows the default path remains and doesn't change.

I've reinstalled Daemon Tools to "\daemon tools\" rather than "\daemon tools lite\" and it now works.

So it seems the issue is that the path doesn't update when you change it in the config app, and the workaround is to reinstall Daemon Tools to the path where GBPVR expects to find it.

Cheers!
