I was using an older version (.96 something) and was having a problem with recording hiccups and decided to update. Now I'm having trouble getting things running. I lost everything (like Capture sources) and am trying to fix that now. When I try to update the capture source and get EPG listings from Zap2It, I get this error message (attached as an image because I wasn't going to copy the whole thing). Can someone decipher this message and let me know what to do? Thanks.

Not sure if this is the fix for you or not, but there is a thread here that says you should upgrade to 97.13 first before upgrading to 98.8.
There is also a link in that thread to download the 97.13 version.

I would just like to say I'm also having these problems, though mine are from a fresh install.

In the config program, on the Capture Sources tab, there is an unlabeled box where you must indicate/configure your capture sources (antenna, cable, satellite, etc.). After pressing the Add or Edit button, a window pops up. One of the line items in the window is EPG source, which in your case should be Zap2It. To the right of that is a Settings button. When pressed it brings up the Zap2It Configuration window where you need to enter your Zap2It account information.

Thanks for the replies:

Carlito- I read that thread, and uninstalled .98 then installed .97 - I got that same error password problem as I did before.

Old Dog - I did go into the sttings button and enter my login info. One thing I was undure about was for the Settings for "Direct Recording Plugin" if I'm using a Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2 what would I chose in the "source" pulldown menu?

You do mean you installed 97 then 98 right?

try copying empty.db3 to gbpvr.db3 and see if that helps...

Yes, I now have .98 installed. How would I go about copying empty.db3 to gbpvr.db3?

in the gbpvr directory there is a file called empty.db3
you could just copy this and name it gbpvr.db3
I would make a backup of your current gbpvr.db3 file first though.

Zip and attach your config.xml and I'll take a look. It reads like something is wrong the database connection string.
