use FM radio in seperate application

i use the FM channel on an PVR500 as an input to a shoutcast server and then stream that to my networked mp3 players around the house. I also want to be able to change the FM channel but GBPVR had no command line to do this.

If i use some other application to control the FM, (winRadio or something) will this cause a problem in GBPVR? ie. it might try to use the tuner to watch TV?

You can remove one of the capture sources, so that tuner is not available to GB-PVR. After that you can use it for FM in some other app/
