Today i was impressed with the gbpvr software so much that i went out and got second kworld dvb-100 card as they are on offer here at Maplins and the first one seemed to be working well with gbpvr. anywany, when i had installed the second card,windows installed the drivers i thought all was ok,

so i went into gb pvr setop and installed the second card, but now i find when i tune it, it shows a good signal level and quality, but no channels come up in the listing ?

I also think> im not sure now its been a few hours! that i also tried to retune the first card and go the same results. Since then i have been pulling out cards and reinstalling drivers and testing and searching the net for a solution. Hence , my post!

So if anybody can point be in the right direction ??????????

Do you know for sure the drivers for this device support multiple devices in the same machine? Some dont.

They do not, there was someone else who tried it sometime ago and gave up. There hasn't been a driver update for sometime if memory serves me correctly (i have a rebadged kworld dvb-t100). If your lucky take it back and visit your local tesco superstore they had the nova-t sticks for £9.99. If your unlucky and tescos don't have them I recommend the nova-t pci for £35 ish online.

I have no idea if these drivers support multiple devices in the same machine, All i know the is the drivers are meant to be on the windows OK list if you know what i mean. Any way i tried something and got strange result.

whilst i was tuning again i removed one of the ariel s so only one card had a lead into it. i then did a tune and got the channels, and the good bit. i did not change the leads over, but did a tune on the other tuner expecting to get no signal, what i did get was a signal and a quality fugure. This is strange as there was no lead in the card, i expect the driver is only seeing one card.

yesterday before i got the extra card i had a look around the net, an i found posts on another PVR site were someone was quoting that he was using two of these cards. so i expected them to work. I hav tried looking for that post again tonight and i cant find it.

Im lost now i have wasted most of my evening trying to get this sorted.

Well maybe Linux it the answer....

Quote:I have 3 x Kworld DVB T-100 cards in my server, and I run mythtv which has no problems with three of them (scheduling could be smarter but it is OK for now).

I am running Ubuntu Breezy, had to do NO kernel hacking at all to get the cards to be recognised and work.

I won't say how much hacking around I had to do to make mythtv work ;-)

There cards are nice cos you can "daisy chain" the antenna from one to the other. No need for a splitter. Kworld sells its cards to other companies like MSI (one of their TV@nywhere cards... I found which one, as it is still available, I could only find the Kworlds via eBay... expect to pay $60-$80).

If you want to test your cards, you can use Xine (choose your fave Xine GUI front-end, I used gxine). Once you've run tzap to create your channels frequency list, you can go into Xine and choose which DVB card you want to view. This is how I tested that my system was OK before running mythtv. Forget about dvbscan and pipes to mplayer etc as they actually did not work, and sent me off on a wild goose chase for 1/2 a day until I tried Xine.

In Gxine in preferences you'll find a DVB tab under another tab (prefs-media-dvb). Select which tuner you want to use there, or there is a command line flag for it too I think....

If you need it, I can send you my channels.conf file out of tzap which xine uses for ch up/down.

Allow 2-3 days for postage and handling ;-)

This was found here... http://www.dtvforum.info/lofiversion/ind...34460.html"

Im sure there has to be a way to get these cards working, i was going to take one of the cards back to today, but i think i will hang on for a while.

Herbs, yea, thought of that, Anyway, i ditched the second card and got a V-Gear MobiDTV, as they were also on offer at maplins for only £29. I saw posts here saying that it was found in the drivers list for gbpvr and recognised as a freecom usb tv, but as it turned out it was not found when i installed. But with a little hacking in the BDA.ini i got it to work, Seems the filters are name different in the lastest drivers!

For any body thats interested here is what i added to the BDA.ini file to get it working.

[V-Gear MobiDTV]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=USB Digital-TV Receiver
FILTER_CAPTURE=USB Digital-TV Device Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=BDA MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Hope this hekps others.

And yes the Kworls and the v-Gear work fine together ! Now Im a happy chappy!
