Ok first let me try and butter you all up by telling you all that this program is great and has been my saviour Big Grin

Ive been in contact with hauppage in the UK and the US whom unofficialy directed me to your project/community here.

My probblem was running a series of videos with a news ticker tape over the top of the video, but they couldnt help me with it. However gbpvr and the rss news reader plugin has given me the functunality needed to achieve my goal. (A scrolling tickertape allong the bottom of the screen during video playback)

The project that i am working on requires a TV to display a series of promotional videos for my school with daily events running allong the screen in the tickertape.

Recentley ive been having problems with the screensaver activating and I found the cause to be how I implemented the ticker tape (see below for how). However something has just recently come to my attention. Unlike the hauppage software gbpvr wont automaticaly loop its playlist and returns to the menu. What I need is to be able to run the videos continuously.

Have i overlooked something? or are any of you able to help me out? as i realy need this to happen. ive also done numerous searches through the code and these forums for references of "loop" "repeat" "playlist".

..::How ticker tape is implemented in theory::..
1. OK well the rss plugin was installed.
2. rss news page installed to a local phpbb forum
3. added local rss feed and removed remote rss sites
4. checked, confirmed to work
5. applied the rss tickertape to the main menu
6. modified the blue skin so that the main menu showed the tickertape and a larger version of the display window (practicaly full screen)
7. played videos, press menu button to show the tickertape
8. disabled screensaver to stop screensaver activation

im more than willing to send any files through or check any files that need checking, just give me a holler. ill check this site errr frequently? :p

EDIT: oh and btw i use the "Play all" button to play 15 or so videos

Sorry, there is no loop play function in GB-PVR.

(I'll pretend I didnt read that you're using this for more than personal use...)

Yes, GB-PVR is capable of doing this, but the built in video player doesnt offer this as a function. Its possible a plugin provides this, but I not that familiar with them, so I dont really know.

Yes, but you also read the license agreement that you accepted when you installed GB-PVR right?

...which is why I was able ignore your comment (while still not officially condoning it). All it takes is is a few more schools and organisations to look at your innovative use of technology and decide they want to do the same thing, then it becomes a problem for me. This could cause issues for me with licensing agreements I've entered into with other parties.

Of course a school using it isnt as bad as someone selling capture hardware with a copy of my software on CD, or wanting to sell PCs with my software pre-installed, or to use as part of some system they're deploying at their company, but these are things that have happened which is why I try to make it clear that I only provide GB-PVR for personal use. Hopefully you understand.

I'm quite happy for people to read this post as a friendly reminder.

I dont know. You could try asking in the plugin forum if anyone's plugin provides this function.
