Hey all. I tried searching the forums and didn't see anything.

I like to use my keyboard as a remote (call me a wierdo) but anyway when I open video library to play one of my dvd's. I can perform one Ctrl command and then my keyboard stops being responsive and i have to ctrl alt delete outta GB-PVR.

For example I can navigate fine around a movie's opening menu, but then once the movie starts playing, if i have to pause (ctrl-q) I can, and then start it back up again. I then lose all keyboard shortcut abilities.

Anyone ever hear of this?? It's driving me batty. Only seems to affect .dvd playback

I've you're using the Cyberlink decoder, and havnt added the Cyberlink EnableVMR9=1 registry setting, then this might be the cause.

I tried it, but to no avail, still having the same problem.

This is what i did...

add the following dword values to registry
HKLM/Software/Cyberlink/Common/CLVSD/EnableVMR=1 and EnableVMR9=1
added here too...
HKCU/Software/Cyberlink/Common/CLVSD

Nothing springs to mind, but if you zip and attach your logs I'll see if there is anything obvious.

k working on the log files now. interesting note. Navigator was set to DVD Navigator. I set it to cyberlink Dvd navigator, and had absolutely zero dvd control from the start, even on menus

Quote:00:43:54.843 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
00:43:54.843 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
00:43:54.843 VERBOSE - Video Renderer 0004
00:43:54.843 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
00:43:54.843 VERBOSE - CyberLink Audio Decoder
00:43:54.843 VERBOSE - Overlay Mixer2
00:43:54.843 VERBOSE - CyberLink Video/SP Decoder
00:43:54.843 VERBOSE - DVD Navigator
00:43:54.843 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)
I can tell from looking at your logs that the problem is what I mentioned above, with you using VMR9, but with a Cyberlink decoder that is not compatible with VMR. This shows the classic signs (extra video renderer, presence of Overlay Mixer in graph).

I'm guessing you created the registry settings in the wrong place, or your version of the decoder is too old to support them, or its an OEM version of the decoder which has its settings in a different place in the registry.

If i remember correctly it is an OEM version of the software.

Should I uninstall it or try to find new dvd software?
