I've noticed that the redrat.dll (for Redrat3 Irblaster channel changer) included in v0.99.5 seems downlevel to the one now supplied by Redrat. Unless GB-PVR needs this specific version, any chance this could be updated in the next release please. I've tried manually replacing the file but get this version mismatch error in the log:

03/01/2007 14:21:48.484 ERROR [7] Error changing to correct channel for recording: Could not load file or assembly 'RedRat, Version=1.17.1608.24395, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=ae0a3380d5973a3c' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

The latest version (1.23.2248.23689) is available as part of the Redrat software on their webpage.

The reason I ask it that I've had the occasional glitch in GB-PVR where it will send a double digit e.g. sending channel 101 will send 1101 and changes to channel 110 instead): The latest level might help (it does not seem to happen outside of GB-PVR).

thanks
Thanks

Are you using 'Redrat Changer Plugin' Channel Changer in you capture source? I didnt think there was a single person using it.

Yes, I did originally use the .exechannelchanger along with the Redratcontrol (.net based) software but had problems with it sometimes losing contact with the Redrat on resuming from standby. Though the plugin option has less flexibility it has no problems on my system with standby (and is simpler with one less resident program needed).

The redrat.dll is part of the basic Redrat command utility (as opposed to the Redratcontrol utility). I can't though use this via the .exechannelchanger as there is no way to send a 3 digit signal (using 0-9) from GB-PVR without recording a signal string for every channel set up in the guide (eg. 101, 102....).

If it is not easy (or preferred) to update the dll (and I'm the only one using it!) then don't worry - I might give the Redratcontrol/.exe solution another go when I get time.

thanks again.

Thats cool, I've been meaning to play around with the RedRat3 again. Its a pretty cool device, but not widely used here.

I've suddenly started having problems with multiple digits being sent from my pvr150 - 501 being received as 5011. Channel chaning has become very eratic. (I don't know if there has been an STB over-the-air update).
I'm contemplating a USB blaster to increase reliability and just fishing for preferences.

The two I'm currently looking at are the radrat, a touch expensive, but more flexible (not that I need flexibility) and the http://www.dusky-control.com/usb.shtml

I knew I should have updated my 8085 programming to PIC chip in the dim and distant past!

HoHo - msg 2 was supposed to be an edit, but I failed dismally again.

I got the impression that redrat was "only just" supported in the way that TV out on the PVR500 was - in that it still works, but if it stops then tough.
I tossed the other name in the air as it has a command line change like your haupblast and is 20 quid cheaper.

I was possibly hoping for a comment or two about "don't get that it's useless" or "Its brilliant, never looked back".

I'm currently disabling software and removing hardware and going back in time with drivers to try to see where this bloody pvr150 blaster is going wrong. I haven't had a successful channel change for three days now.

The Redrat is a great device that I've used for several years. It is very robust & reliable. There are 2 ways to use it with GB-PVR.
1. Using the built in redrat.dll which provide basic channel number changing only.
2. Using the resident RedratControl utility. This is called via the .exechanger option in GB-PVR but does allow much more control via macros etc.

I use (1) as it is the most simple and all I need.
