I have been working on getting my Twinhan 1027 working. So far, so good, but playback is choppy. It is recording in the MS format, not MPEG2. I just tried the MUX checker from the sticky and it says that I don't have any MUX filter, which of course is not true (since it will record a show and I can watch it). Is there some other version than what is posted? I would like to see what my options are.

If you read carefully muxchecker says something like 'the dvr-ms mux will also be available if you're running xp sp2 or higher'.

Its probably a playback problem rather than a recording problem, the DVR-MS mux is pretty good.

It seems to be in the recording since it is there, in exactly the same place, when I play it back on GBPVR or WMP. It stutters when I watch live TV as well. I don't have the problem on MyTheatre but I don't know enough about that program to even find out what I am using. It does record in MPEG2 though. I changed some setting to make it do it, now I can remember what I pushed.:o Anyway, any thoughts on why it may be choppy? I have looked through the forums, but have yet to find something that seems to apply.

Your description doesnt make it very clear which mux you're using. Doa recording then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Sorry for being so unclear. I tried a variety of mux's, picked from the list in config, which I understand does not mean they are in the machine. Each time, the file created is DVR-MS though. I have attached all my logs.

I also have a problem where when I pick a show off the guide, I only get a black screen. The plugin starts in the tray, but I get a blank playback screen. I also do not get any overlays to stop the show, or if I enter channel numbers from the keyboard. It just stays black until I hit escape. Then it goes back to the menu. I can watch live tv for a show that does not require the MDPlugin. I can see the shows while I am mapping the channels though in config. I also can playback a show recorded, although it is a little jumpy. Thanks for your help.

Ok, you've just got the DVR-MS mux then. You'd confused me by mentioning above that it was recording in MPEG2.

This mux has worked well in the past. I dont really remember any similar reports of errors with this mux, which makes me wonder if its signal strength or something similar?

Actually... all your recordings have an error listed immediately after it tries to initialise the DVR-MS mux:

Quote:14:59:00.375 VERBOSE Target DVR-MS filename: C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\My Videos\The Producers\The Producers_20070109_15001715.dvr-ms
14:59:00.375 VERBOSE About to call pSink->CreateRecorder()
14:59:00.421 VERBOSE About to call pRecControl->Start(&rtStart)
14:59:00.703 VERBOSE ConnectPins failed: hr = 80040217

I'm wondering if its something to do with directory permissions. Can you temporarily set the recording path to some specifically made directory like c:\recordings? (create the directory)

I tried the new directory and it did not help. I still see the same error message. Also I am still getting the same black screen trying to watch live TV. The plugin starts in the tray and then eventually stops. Again, it does work while I am setting channels in config.

This is really close but I still have two issues, some stuttering on the recorded shows (also stutters while I am setting channels in config), and I only get black screens when I watch live TV.

I am on my Athlon 64 3500+ box so I don't think it is a CPU issue. I can watch without stutter in MT. Here are my latest logs.

If you switch from VMR9 to VMR9 Custom, do you see anything additional when you try live tv?

I now see the dialog on the bottom with the show description. I also get a popup box that says "No signal detected, please ensure antenna cable is connected....." It also shows the signal bars that are both at 90 -95% and actively moving. Again, the mdec and plugin started and were showing in the tray and then went away. The recording status shows green until I exit out. Now at least I don't have to use escape.
