I realize this is going to be a fairly wide open plea for help. I have a pvr 150 for input and an ati tv card for out put. I installed the cards and drivers loaded GB-pvr and went through the config step by step. The end result was nothing worked. When I Tried to watch live TV (on the computer) I got an "Object Reference" error. Couldn't get the remote to work tried the hauppauge ir blaster .exe and the haupblast.exe still nothing. Also couldn't get the regular remote functions to work either. Went through the "fix Hauppauge remote" settings. Still nothing.

I am hoping to make a "set it and forget it" box to record and watch live tv, but i am obviously doing something wrong. Can anyone give me some "getting started" advice. I am not a computer novice by any stretch, but I have goofed up something in the config.

I have heard lots of good things about GB-pvr so I am determined to get it to work, just need to make sure I am pointed in the right direction.

I am not using the "tv out" card yet, just trying to get it to work to my monitor. I know I am doing something wrong, just don't know where to start to trouble shoot it. I will attach logs tonight to see if that is any help for anyone. Thanks for the quick response!

Zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed?

What are you trying to get working - the remote or the IR Blaster? The remote is used for controlling GB-PVR (ie navigating menus etc). The IR Blaster is used for changing channels external set top boxes.

Here are my logs. I have not changed anything at this point, although I am going to look through the configs to see if there is anything I can see from reading through the forums

Can you set the MVP auto start servers to zero in the config app, then reproduce the problem and repost the logs?

Well I might have screwed up this help. I upgraded to .99 thinking that might help with the problem, it didn't, and infact it created another problem. I have haupblast.exe as the .exe for the channel changer. now i get the error "this application has failed to start because HCWIRBLAST.DLL was not found. re-installing the application may fix the problem." I re-installed gb-pvr, thinking that was the application it wanted but I maybe should have installed haupblast.exe, however I thought that was a built in piece of gb-pvr.

i also still get the "object reference not set to an instance of an object" error, and when i click OK nothing happens. I am attaching the logs.

I am on a mission now to get it to work. It cannot be this hard, I think I just have some configurations wrong somewhere. Thanks for the help.

wonder if you got a HVR1600 instead of a PVR150.... seems I recall ppl saying that Hauppage was subbing in these..
Code:
[b]System Specs:[/b]
AMD64 3000+ (1GB DDR 400 in DualChannel mode)
WinXP Service Pack 2 (most updates)
80Gb SeaGate SATA (boot), 160Gb (noname) SATA(video archives),
500Gb SeaGate SATA][ (Recordings)

[b]GBPVR:[/b]
   99.12 (All Survival Patches)
(PVR150/OnAir GT USB, ZProcess, ShowBurn) - N/A at  moment
   Recording of DualTuner DishNetwork 622
1 MVP (connected to 36" SDTV)

I thought that also so I took the card out and every indication is that it is a 150. How would I know if it is a 1600?
