Will 0.99.5 be my last version?

I have loved GBPVR since the first day I downloaded it. It has changed the way me and my family watch TV for almost 3 years.

Since that first download, I have been squeaking by using an old P3 550 mhz PC with 512mb ram. But even with it's limited hardware resources, I have been very happy with GBPVR's performance. That is until 0.99.12.

Since then, no longer can I watch one program, while at the same time recording one or two shows. The skipping is non stop and soon the audio and video are out of sync. You cant watch a recording while comskip is running at all. It seems like the hard drive never stops, and the cpu stays at 90 to 99 percent when watching a recording.

Removing .12 and reverting back to .5 returns me back to "normal"

I know I cant expect to keep up running such an awesome program on such limited hardware forever, but if someone can take a look at my attached logs, maybe Im missing something.

If you remove the weather plugin does it help any?

Nope. no effect. i do notice that its doing it on live tv also...

but...

the picture on both shows and live tv, look much better. clearer and crisper.

As long as you're not using VMR9 Custom or VMR9 Fullscreen Exclusive, then I cant really think of anything that has changed in the way GB-PVR does its playback or recordings, so I wouldnt expect any difference in this release vs previous releases.

That said, I think you're pushing things by trying to use a 550Mhz PC. The recommended minimum is a 1GHz PIII class CPU or higher.

I'm surprised you're using VMR9 with that hardware. Maybe overlay would work better?

I also notice you're relying on the 'system default' decoders. You'd be better off explicitly selecting them, and try a few combinations - you may find some that work better. This is particularly relevent to sync issues, which is one of the things you mention.
