You didn't mention if you have firewalls setup, if so, try turning them off first.
Also, you have to have DHCP server to give your MVPs an IP address. GBPVR does not carry one. The standard Hauppage software has one, you can use it to upload the dongle then disable the hauppauge services then restart GBPVR. A better option is to get a router that will handle DHCP, or at least a software DHCP, some have used tftpd32, but I haven't really used it yet.

its not the connecting that i'm having problems with, its the fact that when i click to open the "gb-pvr media mvp server" (you know, the little black window that says acts as a server for the mvp, if you close thise window gb-pvr will stop on the mvp. or something like that) it doesn't open, thus i can't get gb-pvr on the media mvp. I did turn off the fire, with no luck. please help

in task manager, under the applications tab, gb-pvr is not there, however the icon is displayed in the system tray, and i can use the gb-pvr software on the pc. This started to happen after i got the "skin plugin and image collection (from http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Skin-...mmunity-WS) its weird because i've never had trouble with this before

Later, If you'd like, you can use http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...verChecker It sounds like you're having a network issue...

You shouldn't be seeing these small black windows, if you are, unselect the interact with desktop on the GBPVR Recording Service. You can locate this when you run services.msc
also, check your task manager if you do get gbpvr.exe services as these are the MediaMVP servers. They should correspond to at least the number of mvps you have.

It wasn't clear to me if the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe is running, if not then the gbpvr.exe for the mvp won't get auto-started or restarted when you close down the mvp.
