Switching to Timeshift mode in v0.99.12 / Vista

When I try to switch to timeshift mode by either clicking on Pause or pressing CTRL-Q, I get the black screen which says 'Switching to Time Shift Mode...', then the screen stays black and does not switch back to display tv. If I hit escape or click a couple more times, it will switch back to the menu without timeshift enabled.

I tried turning off Live Tv so that timeshift is always active. That seems to work, but I really don't need to keep it on all the time.

Is there anything I can check to make the timeshift switch work smoothly?

You must press the 'PLAY' button to resume viewing.

I was confused because the play/pause buttons don't show immediately when I go into timeshift. But if I click on the Windows desktop, then click on GB-PVR again, they show up.

Are you using the VMR9 or VMR7 renderer? If so, these dont have the ability to update the screen while the video is paused, so no way to draw buttons etc. Overlay and VMR9 Custom/FSE do not have this limitation.
