LiveTV channel changing in Vista is failing for me approx. 30% of the time on my Hauppauge PVR 150 26xxx and the driver is 6.0.6000.16408 Has anyone got this card working and if so what drivers are you using?

Sub, note this fails with exactly the same symptom with dongle.bin and mvpmc. Basically the first media open block looks like this

0040 xx xx 02 00 00 00 01 00 ff 00 02 d0 01 e0 00 00
0050 19 64 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 4c 4b 40 00 00
0060 00 00 00 00 00 1c 00 19 00 00

the bps is 6500 and and the length = 0

A good request would look like

0040 08 e7 02 00 00 00 01 00 ff 00 02 d0 01 e0 00 00
0050 41 e9 00 07 87 c0 00 00 00 00 00 4c 4b 40 00 00
0060 00 00 00 00 00 1c 00 19 00 00

bps 16873 and some reasonable length.

Here is a gbpvr log when it fails

Does the live tv file get created when you do this? C:\movies\NHL Hockey_1_20070412_19002200-5.mpg in the example log above.

Post your recording service logs and I'll see if there is any obvious cause listed.

Does the first file always get created? ie, can you always start tv, but often encounter this problem when changing channels?

I can usually start livetv from the menu or remote button, but I have to use the 99.12 dongle or mvpmc but I'm pretty sure it has got one of this problems the first time. Honestly most of my testing was using the prev channel key.

I'm not really sure. The looks look ok, but it sounds like the device is failing to produce data after changing channels.

Unfortunately I dont have my PVR150 in my Vista machine, so I cant easily test this one myself at the moment.

Does live tv on the PC work for you?

Honestly I'd never tried before but it turns out to be similar problems. Using the + - Exit to navigate, after 4 clicks on the + the OSD disappears and the channel doesn't change. When the OSD returns I can navigate again.

I'm wondering if there is something flakey in the Vista drivers?
