Hi,

I have been looking at other threads about playback of .ts files, but this behaviour seems unique!

I have installed the HDTV Pump decoder.

Playback via WMP is fine.

Playback of a .ts file the first time in GBPVR is fine.
Playback the second time causes problems! Basically the video plays for a few seconds and that does not advance - a still picture with the audio looping!

Looking at .grp files and the log files confirms that MPEG-2 Demultiplexer is connected to the ts file the first time, but the second time GB-PVR Parser is connected!

I presume I could disable the resume feature that is probablycausing this... but I really like this feature and dont want to lose it.

Any suggestions?

changing
<PromptForResume>true</PromptForResume>

to false did not help... except that it allowed me again to play the file normally.. but the second time I tried to play it, it displayed the same faulty behaviour.

Something to do with retreiving the last played position with .ts files I suppose is causing the problem.

It happens everytime now. The first time you play a new recording it is fine. But if you stop the recording and go back to the menu and then try and play the file again... it does not play properly. Sometime the end time states 00:00:00.

Some corruption of the timeline... which must be saved locally within some gbpvr settings file somehwere... can this be turned off somehow?

Playback of mpeg files are fine.

Hi Sub,

Anything that would explain this behaviour? Any suggestions that I could try to resolve this?

Thanks,

Dan.

I reinstalled GBPVR but to no effect.

It happens everytime with .ts files.

Start GBPVR, play a .ts file. Stop playing after a short while (seconds). Then try and play again.

The interesting part in the logs is this part:
2007-04-19 20:41:47.125 VERBOSE File already in use - probably still recording
2007-04-19 20:41:47.125 VERBOSE waited: 0 (0 - 1177011707) filesize: 0
2007-04-19 20:41:47.125 VERBOSE Sleeping for 0ms to give file a chance to grow

This happens when attemping to play the file the second time. It seems like GBPVR has locked the file in someway or has spawned a process that is still using it?

Closing and restarting the GUI, resets the behaviour. So somehow GBPVR is holding onto the file handle somehow?

Any config.xml settings I can play around with?

I'm not really sure what to suggest. It looks to me like HDTV Pump is holding on to the file for some reason, but no real clues why and doesnt seem to do it here.

You could try setting <ForcedGraphTeardown>true</ForcedGraphTeardown> in config.xml to see if it makes any difference.

HI Sub,

Yes that is the same version I use.

Another serious problem is that sometimes when playing back a .ts file through GBPVR, the file is wiped! At least the file remains but its filesize is zero!

Scenario was playing back a .ts file, then playing another ts file and then trying to play the first again. I have attached the logs.

Thanks.

GB-PVR never opens the .ts file itself, so it must be something hdtv pump is doing on your machine. I've never seen that behaviour myself though.
