I've been running on my main desktop for over 2 years now without a rebuild - mainly because I didn't back up my wife's 67,563 emails and lost her "address book" It's such a pain to find all of the cryptic files to back up and then have to find all of the software to re-install that I just don't want to do it.

BTW, my GBPVR server gets rebuilt every 6 months Wink

Just upgraded to Vista so decided to do a clean install, previously XP had been running over a year without any problems

My laptop had been running XP for 6 months before I upgraded it to Vista as well

GBPVR machine, only gets rebuilt when I upgrade the motherboard and CPU, I have no plans to upgrade it to Vista any time soon.

I just rebuilt my windows 2000 pc with xp this time, win 2000 had been on it for 6 1/2 years. I only rebuilt it due to the fact it would take 10 mins for turn on to usable due to so many things in the start up.

My Dell with Windows XP is over five years old and I've never reinstalled the OS. I just installed a new C drive and cloned the old one so I wouldn't lose any of the installed programs.
I have a ton of installed programs that I really don't want to have to reinstall, and since the machine is still working very well, I have no plans to do so.

Welcome back reven! long time no see.

I invariable do this once a year, by that time strange things start to bug me and things slow down a bit, its easier to start fresh than try to fix things.

You do realize AVG is free..... Hope I didn't just effect the outcome of your life, but.... You don't have to be a Norton victim any longer.
