Coming from linux I often find myself wishing I could log-in to my machine and mess with it while my family is watching something. Apparently Windows Server allows this and you can enable it on XP and Vista. I haven't tried this yet, but here's a link to a good walkthrough:

http://www.missingremote.com/index.php?o...Itemid=224

Once I try it I will update this thread, if anyone else has experience with this let us know.

I have concurrent sessions enabled on XP Pro for my PVR for exactly the same reasons as you. Works great, wouldn't have it any other way.

I tried this on my Vista Business machine and now I can't connect via remote desktop at all. Anyone know a workaround??

An update:

The "missing remote" instructions won't work for vista business SP2. I searched "vista business sp2 concurrent" and found a version of the hack that works.

I can now remote in w/o kicking off the other user. Sweet.
