Does anyone run GBPVR on Vista?

I have run GBPVR on XP for about 2 years now and its been perfect using the hauppage mvp hauppauge hardware.

i'm using a plugin - musiclibrary2 with the access database backend and its fine.

i have purchased a new machine now and was brave got vista (dell dimension e520)

But the problem im having is the configuration utility does not even list the new musiclibrary2 and also if i change the plugin listing that does not update when you run gbpvr on the machine, am i missing something here?

I also have access 2007 running but i dont think this is anything to do with the problem.

greatful for any help

There will be a config.exe.log that will probably have an error with ML2 is starting. This will most likely be why it's not showing up.

Whenever you touch the Program Files folder you have to be running as an administrator. This includes configuring and unzip files from the command prompt. I've set up a command prompt icon that I run as administrator to get around this. The same thing applies to config.exe, I have to run it as administrator to get it to work for me.

Any program you want to always run with admin privileges, you can do the following:

Right click the exe file.
Click Properties.
Select the "Compatibility" tab.
Under "Privilege Level", check the "Run this program as Administrator".
Click "OK" to exit.

This will always run it with admin privileges for the current user. If you want it for all uses click the button below "Privilege Level" called "Compatilility settings for all Users" (or something like that) and check the same box as above.

Thanks for your help but,

"privilege level" is grey'd out when i go here ?

I only have one user set up and thats as administrator, is this why its grey'd out, or am i missing something do to with user privileges?

Thanks
